I worked in a publishing environment within a sales and marketing context for over 25 years. Initially as a sales person, then as sales manager and trainer. I loved my time as a trainer and manager. It allowed me to hone my coaching and motivational skills. Ultimately I took on the role of operations manager.  This allowed me to use my knowledge to grow and develop the company I worked for. This same knowledge would go on to help in my hypnotherapy business. The marketing element of my past experience is extremely valuable in helping students on the course to understand how best to promote their businesses once they graduate.

In 2003, I decided to train in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) with one of the founders of NLP, Richard Bandler. During the same year, I went on to qualify as a Licensed Training Specialist of NLP. I soon included these new skills in my training and coaching sessions. I quickly realised that NLP alone was not enough to create the many changes people desired. I believed that people needed more support to bring about these changes, so I decided to train as a hypnotherapist.

I wanted to find a hypnotherapy school which suited my logical and positive nature. I was thrilled to be accepted to train with Clifton Practice Hypnotherapy Training(CPHT). CPHT offers delegates the opportunity to qualify for the the Diploma in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (DfSFH) as well as the Hypnotherapy in Practitice Diploma (HPD).  This is classed by many to be the “gold standard” in Hypnotherapy training. I found that this course was ideal for people planning to change career. It certainly gave me the skills and confidence to start practicing as a hypnotherapist straight away.

I am now a qualified Clinical Hypnotherapist (HPD & DfSFH) and Hypnotherapy Supervisor SFH Sup(Hyp). More recently, during the Summer of 2018 I completed the Advanced Hypnotherapy Diploma(AHD). This course has been assessed at a level 5 by NCFE. Right now, this is the highest level of qualification available for solution focused hypnotherapists. It is only available to qualified hypnotherapists through CPHT . I am committed to continually improving my skills & knowledge. I have attended many such development courses to date.

I now live in Staffordshire and enjoy spending time with my kitten, Oscar and my four children and their families. I am an avid reader and love passing on what I’ve learnt to others. I have a busy, full time hypnotherapy & psychotherapy practice. I maintain around 25 ‘live’ clients on my books at any time. I see people online from as far away as Vietnam and more locally at my clinic in Stafford, Staffordshire.

I helped to launch the CPHT Leeds Hypnotherapy Training school in 2016 and after five succesful years it is still going strong.  In 2019 I helped to launch the CPHT Liverpool school, now in its second succesful year. I am excited to be bringing Solution Focused Hypnotherapy to the people of Staffordshire via CPHT Stoke. I look forward to helping others  develop into confident, successful hypnotherapists. I will always be grateful to CPHT. It has given me the life that I have always dreamed about. A life that allows me to help others while giving me time to spend with my family. I am excited about being able to offer others this same opportunity.   I am passionate about enabling people to achieve their goals.

I have had a varied career over the years ranging from Casino Manager abroad to an HR Coordinator in the UK. The common denominator for the roles I have held is that training and development have always played a part in whichever job I had.
In Greece I was part of a team that trained over 800 people to become Croupiers, what an amazing experience that was. This was my first experience in training and development, and I loved it!
After 12 years I returned to the UK with my husband and 8 year old daughter and I settled into an admin role at Marks and Spencer. I quickly moved over to the HR department when a Recruitment Coordinator role became available with the opportunity to become involved with training and development again. After some time I moved over to the new M&S centralised HR centre at Salford Quays jumping at the opportunity to expand my HR / Training & Development skills. Within 18 months I was a Team Leader responsible for the management and development of our team members! This was an exciting period for M&S, we were rolling out a new HR system to 350 stores nationwide, and it was our team that was responsible for ensuring a smooth roll-out. It was challenging and I thrived on the fast paced nature of the work while juggling a busy home life with my family. Over time, I hadn’t realised that anxiety was slowly creeping up in the background of my life until I had an anxiety attack. My GP was helpful and I spent a lot of time researching and reading about the many types of therapy that could assist people struggling with anxiety.  Before long I had made a life changing decision, to become a Hypnotherapist. I wanted to help others to overcome anxiety and make the changes possible to enjoy life again.
Next I had to research training schools.

I wanted a school that would give me a full package; the best training, experienced tutors, marketing and business advice, practical and theoretical training, I wanted to understand why hypnotherapy worked – what was happening in the brain? How did mental health conditions happen and how was I going to use hypnotherapy to help clients? I also needed it to fit around my full-time work and family – it seemed like a big ask but then I found CPHT! It ticked all the boxes; I was very excited!

Training at CPHT Leeds was so much fun and truly enlightening. How amazing to help other people overcome mental health conditions like anxiety and depression and run a business from home choosing my own hours. The added bonus of training with CPHT was that once you qualified you still had ongoing support with your Supervisor. I love attending supervision group sessions, it’s great to see my colleagues, swap tips and catch-up. CPHT also provides a very comprehensive timetable of CPD’s which are constantly being added to and updated, I enjoy attending several every year. (This is great should you want to specialise in one area).

My practice in Bolton has become a part of the community and I have won several awards including Mental Health Coach/Mentor at the Bolton Health and Wellbeing awards. It was an amazing opportunity to raise the profile of Solution Focused Hypnotherapy. I now manage my business, usually having 30 live clients on my books, alongside my Senior Lecturer duties at CPHT Leeds and CPHT Stoke and will soon qualify to be a Supervisor enabling me to support our graduates once they leave to begin their new careers.

CPHT has enabled me to finally achieve that work / life balance that I strived for. I now have the time to spend with my husband and daughter and enjoy long walks with my side kick, my mini Schnauzer Lola. There are no words for how rewarding being a hypnotherapist is, watching clients literally turning their lives around, overcoming obstacles and helping them to be the person they recognise again. I am completely passionate and enthusiastic about Solution Focused Hypnotherapy and love sharing that enthusiasm with our students.
